"There is a myth perpetuated by Bush critics that he would rather burn a book than read one. Like so many caricatures of the past eight years, this one is not only wrong, but also the opposite of the truth and evidence that bitterness can devour a small-minded critic. Mr. Bush loves books, learns from them, and is intellectually engaged by them."Karl Rove gives some insight into what the president reads.

I might be wrong but in my humble opinion, it is not a matter of what we read or how extensively we read. It is a matter of how much of it (whatever we read) we learn to apply in a positive and responsible manner in our daily lives.
ReplyDeleteI will always have hard time respecting someone I hold (partly, not solely) responsible for the ruthless murder of hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of innocent lives from Iraq to Afghanistan.
I don't hate him though for hating him would be a win for those who love hatred. I hate his actions and his actions seem to have not been affected positively by any sane and just thought expressed in any sane and just book.
Just my two cents.
