Ted Turner the church goer?

I thought this was an interesting article about how Turner is partnering up with churches to help fight malaria in Africa. The once vocal atheist is now having a change of heart about religion. He is now apologetic for the many negative things he's said in the past about religion. For me, this is yet another way of seeing God's effectual grace at work. When He finally wants to break someone's heart...He breaks their heart. Not that Ted is all the way there, but it shows no heart is off limits.

  1. One wonders if Jane has had an effect on him. Although you wouldn't exactly call her a fundamentalist, she has said she's a follower of Jesus. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_fonda#Christianity

Ted's change of thinking fits a phenomenon I've seen in other men, namely, that eventually they get older and start facing their mortality. That sobers some of them up, and they begin to think that maybe there is a higher power, after all, and they might be accountable to Him.

The article I read only named mainline (liberal) churches that he's working with. But I agree with you, it's a start.
